From The President
A communication from the CCLS president Jagrut Lallu
In March 2017 I became the president of the CCLSNZ. It is an exciting time in the realm of optometry and ophthalmology where there are huge efforts in the research and development sphere. February 6th 2017 a press release from Northwestern University confirmed that they had found the cell responsible for the development of myopia. As such one of the main focuses for optometry and ophthalmology will be around education in myopia control which centres around the core education of CCLS. The society will be actively promoting education later this year with a roadshow and March 18 next year will be our one day congress, continuing on from Anne’s pioneering Glaucoma workshop and one day congress format.
